Project Partner : Heidi Wakefield

Divided into three consecutive plays, this project called for the design of a terrace of town housing in a specific urban circumstance through incorporating methodologies devised from structuralist/post-structuralist principles of interpretation (hermeneutics). The first part of the project title, "Town Housing", helped frame the question between town housing and housing the town. The second part of the title "Through Thick and Thin" alluded to the interpretation and testing of proposed methodology developed from architectural precedents that were characteristically either "Thick" or "thin." The employment and development of 3D digital skills were heavily relied upon throughout the design process and it has therefore played a major role in the assembling of the ultimate findings.
