Project Partner : Liam Bonnar This project explored and questioned limits on the documentation of buildings - existing and imagined. Working closely with an existing piece of Edinburgh's urban built fabric as the site of study, documentation and design project. The aim of this project was to propose a new contemporary City Exchange for Edinburgh: a public building that comprised an interlinked arrangement of a variety of public and private spaces. Alongside selected existing city functions, the building becomes an 'Energy Exchange'. The new City Exchange brief is to reprogramme the whole of the building, to create a distinctive new public route, entrance and sequence of spaces for exchange(s) which connect Cockburn Street with the existing public face to the High Street. |
